Paula M. Martinez, 85, of Big Spring, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at Parkview Nursing and Rehab. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Deacon Victor Lopez officiating. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard L Gully officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

She was born March 2, 1928, in Casa Piedra, Texas to Juana and Librado Munoz. Coming to Howard County from Lamesa, she was a resident of Big Spring for more than 60 years. She married A.G. Martinez in Big Spring in 1945. He preceded her in death July 30, 2013. She was a homemaker and a very active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and involved with her husband in prison ministries, Eucharistic ministries, the choir and was a Guadalupana.

She is survived by three daughters,Yolanda Bryant and husband, Ray, and Lupe Pattin Hodges, all of Big Spring and Mary Lopez and Deacon Victor Lopez of Midland; six sons, Jack Martinez and wife, Melanie, of Cape Coral, Fla., Joe Martinez and wife, Debra, of Pecos, Texas, Fidel Martinez and wife, Margie, Adelaido and Martinez, Jr. and Ricky Martinez, all of Big Spring, and David Martinez and wife, Mikki, of Elgin, Texas; two sisters, Natalie Heredia of Midland and Librada Lopez of Big Spring; 32 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one daughter,Janie Lownes; one granddaughter, Wendy Martinez; five brothers; and two sisters.
