Pedro M. 'Pete' Salazar Sr.

Pedro M. “Pete” Salazar Sr., 70, of Big Spring died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at his residence. Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Deacon Johnny Arguello officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born Feb. 22, 1942, in Nueces County, Texas, to Dominga and Adolfo Salazar. He farmed for 45 years on the Robert Beall Farm. He was a lifetime resident of Howard County and a Catholic.

He is survived by two sons, Pete Salazar Jr. and wife Cathy of Big Spring and Robert Salazar of Big Spring; four daughters, Catalina Salazar of Big Spring, Corene Guerrero of Las Vegas, Nev., Carolina Cuellar of Big Spring and Cindy Gonzalez and husband Hector of American Falls, Idaho; two brothers, Precilianio “Chano” Salazar and wife Rosa of San Angelo and Adolfo “Chuco” Salazar Jr. of Coalinga, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Pete Salazar; one daughter, Teresa Salazar; and one brother, Gregorio Salazar; and two sisters, Mary Cuellar and Sarah Garcia.
