Pedro 'Pete' Gonzales

Pedro "Pete" Gonzales, 61, of Big Spring died Monday, July 22, 2013, at Odessa Regional Medical Center. Vigil Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be at Coahoma Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 9, 1951, in Howard County to Maria and Juan Gonzales. He was a lifetime resident of Howard County and worked a number of years at GAMCO and later for Moffit Carpets in Midland. In recent years, he was self-employed as a carpenter and did woodworking. He was a Catholic.

He is survived by three daughters, Kathy Chavarria of Big Spring, Michelle Carrasco of Big Spring and P.J. Westmoreland of Corinth, Texas; one son, Pedro Chavarria of Big Spring; mother; Maria G. Gonzales of Big Spring; one brother, Salome M. Gonzales and wife Irma of Coahoma; three sisters, Yolanda Dominquez and husband Rudy of Big Spring, Mary Linda Landin and husband Macedonio of Big Spring and Frances Jones of Kentucky; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Jeremy Acuff; and two brothers, Patrick Gonzales and Richard Gonzales.
