You might not expect to find an Italian pianist of international acclaim in the Crossroads area, but that will be exactly the case Feb. 25, as Francesco Attesti will perform a piano concert to benefit the local CARE Fund.
Attesti — who is considered one of the finest interpreters of the Romantic and early 20th Century Repertoire — will be performing a program largely based on the works of Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin at the Hall Center for the Arts on the Howard College campus at 7:30 p.m.
According to CARE Fund spokesman Tommy Churchwell, when Attesti is referred to as world-renowned, it's anything but lip service.
“Last month he was touring in France,” Churchwell said. “He's a busy guy, playing all over the world. So, when we say he's internationally acclaimed, we mean it.”
Tickets for the concert are $25, according to Churchwell, with all proceeds going to the local CARE Fund.
“You can purchase tickets at the Big Spring Herald, Chamber of Commerce or at Churchwell Insurance,” he said.
