Police investigating 2 robberies

Big Spring Police Department officers are searching for suspects who committed two early-Friday morning robberies in east Big Spring.


A taxi driver and 7-Eleven store clerk were robbed at gunpoint between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Thursday, according to information released by BSPD Public Information Officer Tony Everett.


The first robbery report was received at 1:19 a.m. when officers were dispatched to the area of Kenny and Tucson streets. Upon arrival at the scene, they met with a taxi driver who said that two African-American males, who had been passengers in his taxi, pulled a handgun and demanded his money when he dropped them off in the 1500 block of Tucson.


Everett's information states that the taxi driver complied with the demand and both suspects fled the scene on foot.
