Police locate missing resident

A 70-year-old Big Spring man who was the subject of an area-wide search this week has been located, according to law enforcement officials.

Jimmy Aaron Batie, a resident of the Canterbury retirement facility, was reported missing earlier this week after police officials say he was last seen during the evening hours Saturday in the 1700 block of S. Lancaster.

According to Sgt. Tony Everett, public information officer with the Big Spring Police Department, Batie was located this morning in another city, apparently in a disoriented state.

Prior to Batie being located, police officials said there were no outward signs of foul play in the local man's disappearance.

Everett confirmed the Texas Department of Public Safety was assisting in the investigation and provided a helicopter Wednesday afternoon to help search the areas in and around the Canterbury facility.
