The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. today:
• MYRELL SIMPSON JR., 37, of 3210 Auburn, was arrested Wednesday on charges of failure to identify as a fugitive – giving false information and a warrant from another agency.
• THEFT was reported:
In the 3600 block of N. Highway 87.
In the 400 block of S. Gregg Street.
• BURGLARY OF A HABITATION was reported in the 1100 block of E. 14th Street.

The Howard County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity:
Note — Officials with the Howard County Jail reported having 70 inmates at the time of this report.
• RANDY JOE HURRINGTON, 50, was arrested Wednesday by the HCSO on a charge of aggravated robbery.
• MYRELL SIMPSON JR., 37, was transferred to the county jail Thursday by the BSPD on charges of failure to identify as a fugitive – giving false information and an Austin warrant for revocation of parole.
• RICHARD JAMES CARSON, 23, was arrested Thursday by the HCSO on a charge of public lewdness.
• ROBERT WAYNE VAUGHN NIZNIK, 31, was arrested Thursday by the HCSO on a charge of public lewdness and public intoxication.

The Big Spring Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services reported the following activity:
• TRAUMA was reported in the 1400 block of Tucson. One person was transported to SMMC.
• TRAUMA was reported in the 500 block of W. 17th Street. One person was transported to SMMC.
• TRAUMA was reported in the 3200 block of Parkway. One person was transported to SMMC.
• TRAFFIC ACCIDENT was reported in the 2600 block of S. Gregg Street. Service refused.
• MEDICAL was reported in the 2500 block of W. 16th Street. One person was transported to SMMC.
