The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. today:
• JOHNNY RAY PAYNE JR., 31, of 1509 Stadium, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of driving while license invalid – DWI related.
• LEAH YVONNE DAVIDSON, 56, of 1205 Ridgeroad, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of failure to identify.
• GARY RAYANDO FRENCH, 31, of 2607 Central, was arrested Tuesday on charges of assault by contact and interference with an emergency phone call.
• SAUNDRA JO GARRARD, 36, of 1107 Wood, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of theft – shoplifting.
• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF was reported:
In the 2500 block of Chanute.
In the 600 block of N. Goliad.
• THEFT was reported:
In the 200 block of W. FM 700.
In the 200 block of W. FM 700.
• ASSAULT was reported in the 400 block of E. Fourth Street.
• BURGLARY OF A HABITATION was reported in the 3600 block of Dixon.

The Howard County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity:
Note — Officials with the Howard County Jail reported having 74 inmates at the time of this report.
• JIMMY RAY MELCHOR, 48, was arrested Tuesday by the HCSO on a judgment/sentence for driving while intoxicated – second offense.
• BARNEY KIP EDENS III, 30, was arrested Tuesday by the HCSO on a charge of expired motor vehicle inspection certificate, a Gregg County warrant for forgery of a financial instrument and a Bexar County warrant for motion to revoke probation for contempt of child support.
• MICHAEL EDWARD BAKER, 44, was arrested Tuesday by the HCSO on a charge of failure to maintain financial responsibility.
• BETTYE JANE MCWILLIAMS, 68, was arrested Tuesday by the HCSO on a judgment/sentence for theft.
• RICKIE DAN PRUIETT, 50, was transferred to the county jail Tuesday by the BSPD on a charge of issuance of a bad check.
• FREDDY CANO RODRIGUEZ JR., 23, was arrested Tuesday by the HCSO on a judgment/sentence for resisting arrest, search or transportation.
• LEAH YVONNE DAVIDSON, 56, was transferred to the county jail Tuesday by the BSPD on a charge of failure to identify.
• GARY RAYANDO FRENCH, 31, was transferred to the county jail Tuesday by the BSPD on charges of assault – family violence and interfering with an emergency phone call.
• SAUNDRA JO GARRARD, 36, was transferred to the county jail Tuesday by the BSPD on a charge of theft.
• JULIAN P. RAMIREZ, 45, was transferred to the county jail Wednesday by the BSPD on municipal warrants for displaying an expired registration and failure to appear.

The Big Spring Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services reported the following activity:
• MEDICAL was reported in the 3200 block of Parkway. One person was transported to SMMC.
• MEDICAL was reported in the 1400 block of N. Highway 87. One person was transported to SMMC.
• TRAUMA was reported in the 2000 block of N. Salem Road. One person was transported to SMMC.
• TRAUMA was reported in the 600 block of Steakley. One person was transported to SMMC.
• MEDICAL was reported in the 400 block of S. First Street. One person was transported to SMMC.
