The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. today:
• JERRY LIN WHITE, 43, of 1200 N. FM 700, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for accumulated items/weeds/rubbish.
• RAY MARTINEZ ALVARADO, 35, of 1500 Lincoln, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of driving while license suspended/invalid with a previous conviction.
• AMBER LYNN JAMES, 21, of 3810 Rice Rd., was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for failure to maintain financial responsibility.
• CHANCE PATRICK NEWTON, 22, of 1307 Virginia, was arrested Wednesday on warrants for possession/purchase/consumption of tobacco by a minor, juvenile curfew violation, expired motor vehicle inspection certificate, failure to yield right-of-way to an emergency vehicle, no driver's license – when unlicensed, disorderly conduct – fighting and failure to appear (three counts).
• TIFFANY ANN ELDER, 30, of 2600 Langley, was arrested Wednesday on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana – two ounces or less.
• DARRIN JAY CROOKS, 53, of 4200 Bilger, was arrested Wednesday on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana – two ounces or less and a warrant from another agency.
• ASSAULT was reported:
In the 1600 block of Martin Luther King.
In the 400 block of N.E. 10th Street.
• THEFT was reported in the 600 block of W. I H 20.
• BURGLARY OF HABITATION was reported in the 900 block of Abrams Street.

The Howard County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity:
Note — Officials with the Howard County Jail reported having 76 inmates at the time of this report.
• AMBER JAMES, 21, was transferred to the county detention center Wednesday by BSPD on capias failure to maintain financial responsibility.
• CHANCE PATRICK NEWTON, 22, was transferred to the county detention center Wednesday by BSPD on charges of capias minor in possession of tobacco, capias curfew violation, capias expired motor vehicle registration, capias failed to yield row to emergency vehicle, capias no drivers license, capias DOC fighting with another, capias violate promise to appear (three counts).
• DARRIN JAY CROOKS, 53, was arrested Thursday by HCSO on charges of possession of controlled substance less than one gram and possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
• TIFFANY ANN ELDER, 30, was arrested Thursday by HCSO on charges of possession of controlled substance less than one gram and possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
