The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. today:
• BOBBY JOE LOPEZ, 25, of 1701 S. Runnels, was arrested Thursday on charges of possession of a controlled substance and assault – recklessly impeding breathing or circulation.
• STEPHEN CRUZ, 32, of 1707 Donley, was arrested Thursday on warrants for failure to control speed and failure to appear.
• LAPAUL ERIC SCAGGS, 34, 510 S. Benton, was arrested thursday on a charge of assault causing bodily injury – family violence.
• BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE was reported:
In the 1300 block of Birdwell Lane.
In the 2000 block of Scurry.
• ASSAULT was reported near the intersection of 17th Street and Runnels.
• THEFT was reported in the 300 block of Aylesford.
• BURGLARY OF A HABITATION was reported in the 1100 block of E. 11th Place.

The Howard County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity:
Note — Officials with the Howard County Jail reported having 63 inmates at the time of this report.
• BOBBY JOE LOPEZ, 25, was transferred to the county jail Thursday by the BSPD on charges of assault of a family/household member – impeding breathing or circulation and possession of a controlled substance.
• JERRY DON DUFFER, 23, was arrested Thursday by the HCSO on Howard County warrants for assault of a family/household member with a previous conviction and resisting arrest, search or transportation.
• LAPAUL ERIC SCAGGS, 34, was transferred to the county jail Friday by the BSPD on a charge of assault causing bodily injury – family violence.
• OLAN DALE GATLIN, 51, was arrested Friday by DPS on a Hockley County warrant for theft of service.
• ALFREDO CAMPOS JR., 53, was arrested Friday by DPS on Gray County warrants for a motion to revoke probation for theft by check, bond surrender for failure to identify and issuance of a bad check.
• DANIEL PAUL JOHNSON, 48, was transferred to the county jail Friday by the BSPD on a charge of public intoxication.

The Big Spring Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services reported the following activity:
• MEDICAL was reported in the 3200 block of Parkway. One person was transported to SMMC.
• TRAFFIC ACCIDENT was reported in the 4200 block of S. Highway 87. One person was transported to SMMC.
• MEDICAL was reported in the 900 block of N. Lamesa Highway. One person was transported to SMMC.
• MEDICAL was reported in the 3300 block of Drexel. One person was transported to SMMC.
• TRAUMA was reported in the 900 block of W. Second Street. One person was transported to SMMC.
• MEDICAL was reported in the 300 block of Furh. One person was transported to SMMC.
