Ramon “Raymond” Lopez Florez

Ramon Florez was born in Big Spring, Texas, to Felix and Jesusita Florez. A longtime resident of Atwater, he passed away Oct. 14, 2012, in Tucson, Ariz., at the age of 89.
He was a retired lead janitor for Merced County, a World War II veteran and member of Crusillista de Cristiandad of St. Anthony’s Church in Atwater.
He is survived by his children, Aurora Florez, Rita Florez, Cruz (Phillip) Sanchez, Lucy (Frank) Perez, Felix (Simona) Florez, and Ruben (Mary) Florez; and 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Primitiva “Nina” Florez.
A visitation was held Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 ,with an evening Rosary at Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home in Atwater. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Oct. at St. Anthony’s Church in Atwater. Interment is in the Winton District Cemetery in Winton. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Anthony’s Church.
