Raul Martinez, 51, of Big Spring died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Craig Wascom of First Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born March 9, 1961, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. He first came to Big Spring from El Paso in 1985. He married Rosita Munoz on Aug. 3, 1991, in Big Spring. He was employed by the City of Big Spring in the Street Department since 1992. He was a Catholic.

He is survived by his wife, Rosita Martinez of Big Spring; two sons, Gabriel Martinez and Joel Martinez, both of Big Spring; one daughter, Jasmine Martinez of Big Spring; parents, Guadalupe and Epigmeno Martinez of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico; one brother, Jorge Martinez of El Paso; and four sisters, Amanda Martinez of El Paso, and Rosalba Martinez, Olivia Cazares, and Margarita Martinez, all of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico.
