Ray L. Dabney, 78, of Big Spring died Saturday, May 18, 2013, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Revs. Mark Lindsey and Floyd Green officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Big Spring, Texas, and married Darlene Dabney on June 20, 1959, in Big Spring.

Ray graduated from Big Spring High School and attended Howard College and worked for Cosden Oil and Chemical and Fina for 35 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Dabney of Big Spring; a daughter, Melody Lee Dabney of Austin; a nephew; and two great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Willie Mae Dabney; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Herk and Dempsy Agee; four brothers; and two sisters.

The family suggests memorials be made to Heritage Museum, 510 Scurry, Big Spring, Texas 79720; or to the Big Spring Humane Society, P.O. Box 823, Big Spring, Texas 79721-0823.
