Ray T. Barnett, 82, of Big Spring, died Thursday June 5, 2014, at his residence. Private family services will be held at a later date. His ashes will be scattered along Route 66 from Amarillo to Colorado.
He was born to Vera Pearl and Duge Barnett in Hollis, Okla., on Feb. 22, 1932. He had been a resident of Big Spring for 14 years, moving from Amarillo. He retired from Pantex Industries after 22 years as head chef where he cooked for many different dignitaries. He was also a drummer in a band and had played for such stars as Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson.
He is survived by one child, Angela Gibson of Duncanville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
