Ray Turner, 74, of Big Spring, Texas died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cowboy Church in Barnhart, Texas. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Barnhart, Texas.

He was born March 2, 1939, to Hettie Jane (Taylor) and Clyde Waymon Turner in Barnhart, Texas. He worked for Texas A&M as an animal control agent. He retired after 30 years and then worked for James Turner Trucking in Big Lake, Texas. He has been a resident of Big Spring since 1996.

He married Dorothy Grimes on March 25, 1992 in Snyder and she preceded him in death. He loved to hunt, fish, play dominoes and Bingo. He was a Methodist.

He is survived by his nieces, Pamela Estep and Terri Lowe; a nephew: Wayne Pusley; several other nieces and nephews and grand- nieces and nephews; and a special friend Mary Lou Brumley.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Hal Turner; a sister, Winnie Pusley and a niece that he raised, Nita Ellison.

Pallbearers will be: Freddy Miears, Carl Howell, Johnny Jones, Wayne Robertson, Cody Miles and LeRoy Good.
