Ashton Lauren Evans and Jordan Blake Rea were united in marriage June 30, 2012, at Travis Park United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas. The marriage was officiated by the Rev. Dr. William Smythe of Longview, formally of Big Spring.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Anna Evans of Big Spring. The brideâ€™s grandparents are C.G. and Joyce Evans of Big Spring; Patty Vaughn of Alvin and the late Bob Vick.
The groom is the son of Patti and Jim Luttrell of Longview, and Drâ€™s. F. Dee and Karen Rea of Austin. He is the grandson of the late Ted and Martha Rea and Montel and Jerry Tessman.
Maid of honor was Jessi New of Houston. Bridesmaids were Ashley Phinney of Big Spring, Caylie Dunnam of Los Angeles, Calif., Sarah Haney Maskell ofÂ Saint Cloud, Minn., Brenn Swinney of Fort Worth, Kathleen Kinder of Fort Worth, Cameron Dunn of Lake Jackson and Danielle Jenkins of Hangzou, China. Junior Bridesmaids were Michaela Raney of Lamesa, cousin of the bride, and Cate Blodrick ofAustin, cousin of the groom. The ring bearer was Kade Stephens of Trophy Club, cousin of the bride. Flower girls were Maryella Rippy of Austin, cousin of the bride, and Lane and Isabel Boldrick ofAustin, both cousins of the groom.
Honor attendants were Becky Murphree Valbuena of Big Spring, Courtney Thomas of Aledo, and Anna Neal of Midland.
The best man was Tyler Smith of Midland. Groomsmen were Hutton Evans of Lubbock, brother of the bride, Grayson Ford of Longview, Cassity Jones of Longview, Michael Wilcox of Tyler, Erik Powell of Houston, Noah Tramel of Houston, and Clay Hamilton of Plano. Junior groomsmen were Blake and Ryan Vick of Fredericksburg, cousins of the bride. Ushers were Ryan Walker of College Station, Garrett Martin of Midland, Austin Price of Kailua-kona, Hawaii, Chris Lile of Mansfield, and Zach Trant of Houston.
The musical offering was presented by Jay and Ashley Phinney. Scripture readings were presented by Brian and Tyler Young of Friendswood, cousins of the bride.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groomâ€™s parents at Fire Wheel with food provided by Boudroâ€™s of San Antonio. The bridesmaid luncheon was held at the Mokara on the Riverwalk. Special guests included the bride and groomâ€™s mothers, the brideâ€™s grandmothers, and the bride and groomâ€™s aunts, great aunts and cousins.
The wedding reception was held at the Buckhorn Museum. A dinner was hosted at the reception with dinner provided by Don Strange of Texas. Guests enjoyed dancing with music provided by Taboo of Austin.
As per tradition, when both the bride and groom are graduates from Texas A&M University, the wedding party is led in the singing of the Aggie War Hymn, while forming a ring of honor.
After a honeymoon trip to New York and Nevis Island, the bride and groom are making their home in Houston.
Wedding showers were hosted in Big Spring, Trophy Club and Longview.
