Rebecca Valencia, 95, of Big Spring died Friday, June 22, 2012, in Houston. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

She was born Aug. 2, 1916, in Shafter, Texas. She married Jose Valencia on Nov. 11, 1944, in Big Spring. He preceded her in death May 14, 1987. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. She was a lifetime member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and later Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was a Crusillista; she was also a member of the Guadalupanas and the St. Thomas Alter Society. She had been employed for 37 years at the First Presbyterian Church before retiring.

She is survived by two daughters, Lupe Sabedra and her husband Victor of Houston, and Linda Ramirez and her husband Johnny, of Big Spring; two grandsons, Michael Ramirez and his wife Irene of Lubbock, and Joe Yanez of Big Spring; and two great grandsons, Tanner Ramirez and Christian Lucas Yanez.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Berta Yanez; one brother, Fred Hernandez; and one sister, Eustolia Quintana.
