Red Cross looking for volunteers

April 5, 2011

If helping others appeals to you, here's something of interest. The American Red Cross is looking for volunteers in the Crossroads area.

“Currently there is a shortage of Red Cross volunteers residing in Howard County to respond to local disasters such as house fires, windstorms or tornadoes,” said James Parks, director of Emergency Services for the Southwest Texas Chapter of the American Red Cross. “We have just witnessed how the drought and extremely dangerous fire conditions have adversely affected numerous households in West Texas, most notably the 13 homes destroyed in Colorado City.”

To learn more about the organization or to volunteer, contact Parks at his office at 9061 Wright Drive in Midland or by phone at 432-563-2267 or 800-219-2154.
