Rena 'Bo' McCoy

Rena “Bo” McCoy, 76, of Big Spring, Texas, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, in Brownfield, Texas. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel, with the Rev. Holston Banks officiating.

She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Corine and Paul Thomas on Oct. 5, 1937. She was a longtime resident of Big Spring. She worked in food service for more than 20 years for the Big Spring Independent School District at Marcy and for a short time at Goliad. She also worked a period of time for the Dallas Independent School District.

She is survived by two sisters, Bertie Hawkins and husband Freddie of Big Spring and Shirley Augemon of Fort Worth; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Corine Thomas; grandparents, Andrew and Millie Thomas; one daughter, Gelinda Valentine; one brother, Paul Lee Thomas Jr. and three sisters, Jurline “Thomas” Lawson, Hurline Bodgane and Pauline Chapman.
