Repps Guitar Jr. 75, of Abilene passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, in Northâ€™s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bryans Fitzhugh officiating. The family will receive friends this evening from 5-7 p.m. in Northâ€™s Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St.
Mr. Guitar was born Aug. 14, 1937 in Big Spring, Texas to Repps and Mary Elizabeth (Hurt) Guitar Sr.
He was one of the pioneer Guitar families in Abilene. He sold real estate in the Big Country for over twenty years. He was also self-employed as a rancher. He loved spending time with his family, children, grandchildren and his great-grandson. He enjoyed hunting and working with his dogs and various other farm and domestic animals. Repps was a member of the Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son, John Guitar of Clyde; one daughter, Lesli Nichols and husband Martin of Big Spring, Texas; five grandchildren, Mary Guitar, Trisha Stannard and husband Justin of Sanderson, Texas, Steven Nichols of Big Spring, Texas, Garrett Nichols of Lubbock, Texas and Austin Nichols of Knott, Texas; one great-grandson, Jackson Stannard; one sister, Marilyn Galusha and husband Bill of Abilene; two brothers, Pressley Guitar of Abilene and Dr. David Guitar and wife Mitzi of Brownwood, Texas; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Ben Richey Boys Ranch 501 Ben Richey Dr. Abilene, Texas 79602.
