Richard Bloom, 66, of Coahoma, Texas, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gail Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 6, 1948 in Oklahoma City to Estella and William Bloom. He lived most of his life in Mitchell and Howard counties. He married Saundra Evans June 2, 1990, in Snyder, Texas. He was a retired truck driver working in recent years for Andrews Transport. He was a Baptist and a Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Saundra Bloom of Coahoma; four daughters, Cyndi Wrye of Coahoma, Marie Flowers and her husband, Mike, of Mesquite, Texas, Angela Grant and her husband, Alan, of Big Spring, and Angie Digby of Big Spring; two sons, Brad Evans and his wife, Tiffani, of Amarillo, Texas, and Jim Evans and his wife, Joni, of Bethlehem, Ga.; two brothers, O’Neal Bloom and his wife, Virginia, of Snyder, and Bill Bloom and his wife, Janeita, of Lansing, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Jelilia and Tommy Wallace.
