Robbery suspect sought

The Big Spring Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that took place at a convenience store in the 800 block of East Interstate Highway 20 Thursday evening.

According to Sgt. Tony Everett, public information officer with the BSPD, officers were called to the Star Stop No. 8 at approximately 8:50 p.m. in response to an aggravated robbery.

“The store clerk said she was working behind the counter when she saw a subject come in the door with a handgun pointed at her,” Everett said. “The subject demanded all of the money the clerk had. After the clerk complied, the suspect left the building and fled on foot, leaving to the west side of the store. At that time, the clerk locked the doors and called the police.”
