Robbery suspect sought
Law enforcement officials are searching for a masked man who allegedly robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store during the early morning hours Sunday.According to Sgt. Tony Everett, public information officer with the Big Spring Police Department, the suspect entered the 7-Eleven convenience store in the 900 block of Willia just after 1 a.m. Sunday.“Officers responded to the store in reference to a robbery,” Everett said. “Contact was made with the clerk, who advised (the store had) just been robbed. He said a male subject came to the counter and told the clerk to give him all the money and he would not be hurt.”According to police reports, the suspect is described as tall and slender, between 6 feet, 4 inches and 6 feet, 5 inches and wearing all black clothing.“The suspect was also wearing a black hoodie and a black mask,” Everett said. “The clerk stated the suspects voice sounded like (that of) a white male. He never displayed a weapon but kept his right hand in the hoodie pocket, giving the clerk the impression he had a gun. The clerk complied and the suspect took the money and fled on foot, going north.”Everett said the suspect made away with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported, according to police reports.Everett said the public's help could make a difference in solving the crime.“Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call the Big Spring Police Department at 432-264-2558 or Big Spring Area Crimestoppers at 432-263-TIPS (8477),” he said. “You will remain anonymous and no caller ID is ever used.”Calls which lead to the arrest and indictment of the person responsible for the robbery could receive a cash reward up to $1,000, according to Crimestoppers officials.
