Roberto Galindo Garcia, 83, of Big Spring died Monday, June 9, 2014, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Vigil service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Deacon Johnny Arguello officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born Dec. 14, 1930, in Big Spring to Juanita and Jesse Garcia. He married Josephine Esparza in 1958. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He also played semi pro ball with the Big Spring Tigers.He worked for 40 years at Big Spring State Hospital as a nursing supervisor before retiring in 1995. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and he was a Catholic.

He is survived by his wife, osephine Garcia of Big Spring; one son, Gabriel Garcia of Big Spring; one daughter, Sandra Gonzales and husband Pedro of Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Feliz Carrasco of Big Spring; one nephew and five nieces.
