Rodney 'Ronnie' Garza

Rodney 'Ronnie' Garza, 56, of Big Spring died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at his residence. Vigil services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

Rodney was born Feb. 16, 1956, in Trenton, N.J. He was a beloved son, brother and uncle. Rodney lived in many places in the world, due to his father’s military career.

One of Rodney’s greatest passions was cooking, which culminated in his participation in several grand opening ceremonies for Marriott Hotels.

Rodney is survived by his parents, Mateo and Dorothy Garza; two brothers, Darrell Garza and his wife Martha of El Paso and Michael Garza of Ravena, N.Y.; two sisters, Jeannette Alexander and her husband Chris of Big Spring and Patricia Garza of El Prado, N.M. Rodney was the beloved uncle of many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Devon Butler, Marty Evans, Jonathon Hughes, Viento Herrera, Cuauhtemoc Herrera and Carl Garza.
