COLLIN SMITH

ROSCOE—Roscoe Collegiate High School is in the second year of their program allowing students to not only earn college credit hours, but to graduate high school with their associates degree.
“The goal of this program is to make all students college ready, career ready and life ready,” Jacob Tiemann, director of Roscoe Collegiate High School, said.
Last year, one senior took advantage of the program and received her associates degree three weeks before her high school graduation. This year 13 of the 24 graduating students received their associates degree at Western Texas College on May 6.
“This year we had more than half of the students take advantage of the program and receive their associate's degree,” Tiemann said.
Collin Smith, grandson of Perry and Wanda Gamble and John and Sue Keller, of Big Spring, was one of those students.
