Routine items to greet commissioners Monday

January 7, 2012

Howard County commissioners will face a routine agenda when they meet Monday afternoon.
Among the items expected to be considered by the court, commissioners are expected to meet with either Gene Valentini or Leslie Soto of the Lubbock County Juvenile Mediation Services regarding case management.
The court will also discuss the possible sale of property in the city of Coahoma, as well as meet in executive session with with County Attorney Josh Hamby, according to County Judge Mark Barr.
Commissioners will hear from County Auditor Jackie Olson, who will provide invoices, purchase requests, budget amendments and her office’s monthly financial report. The court will also hear from County Treasurer Teresa Thomas, who will present her quarterly report, a payroll report and personnel considerations.
Sheriff Stan Parker is slated to discuss profiling for a ticket report.
County Clerk Donna Wright will present her office’s monthly report during the meeting, while County Road and Bridge Administrator Eddy Jameson will report on proposed pipeline crossings and county road maintenance.
Jameson is also to request permission from the court to hire a roller operator.
Monday’s meeting will get under way at 1 p.m., considerably later than the court’s normal 10 a.m. meeting time. However, the later starting time was necessary due to a funeral scheduled Monday morning, according to county officials.
