Ruth Vencil

Ruth Vencil, 65, of Big Spring went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Jayton Cemetery in Jayton, Texas with the Rev. Jess Colegrove officiating.

Ruth was born Dec. 31, 1947, in Lancashire, England. She worked as a professional dancer in a ballet company which toured Europe and the Middle East. She met Billy Vencil in Egypt and they were soon married in London.

They lived in various countries around the world before moving to the United States in 1980, where she started a new and long career in apartment management. She recently moved to Big Spring to be closer to her family and grandchildren.

Ruth was a caring mother who loved her family and was especially fond of animals. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Cahill and son-in-law Mike Cahill of Big Spring; one grandson, Nicholas Tillman and wife Kristen of Abilene; two granddaughters, Cortnie Cahill of San Angelo and Londyn Cahill of Big Spring; one great-grandson, Talan Tillman of Abilene; and a brother, Stuart Raistrick of Blackpool, England.
