Salvation Army bell ringers to chime in Friday
The bells will be ringing in the season for giving Friday.Volunteers with the Salvation Army will spend some of their Black Friday soliciting for funds instead of shopping for door buster deals when the Salvation Army kicks off its Red Kettle campaign.“All the money we raise stays in the community,” said Lt. Missy Romack of the Salvation Army. “This is a good time for us to raise money to help us during the year. We feed people every day. We give out groceries and provide residents with help paying utilities. We use that money every day to provide services to the community.”All volunteers are welcome and that includes individuals or groups.“The more volunteers we have, the more income we will have,” Romack said. “They can take a shift like for two hours. A company or group can come in and ring the bell for a day. A company can also adopt a kettle for the day, and we will place its logo on that kettle."
