Santiago 'Jimmy' Munoz

Santiago “Jimmy” Munoz, 82, of Big Spring died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with a prayer service following at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Craig Wascom officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born July 25, 1929, in Stanton. He married Ramona Hilario on Sept. 17, 1950. She preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 2000. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a custodian at Malone-Hogan Hospital and later Scenic Mountain Medical Center until 1992. More recently, he was employed at Harris Lumber and Hardware. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and was a member of the First Assembly of God.

He is survived by three sons, Esmael Munoz and his wife Linda, Joe Munoz, and Johnny Munoz, all of Big Spring; six daughters, Amelia Rodriguez and her husband Rafael of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Linda Galan and her husband Frank, Cindy Lozano, Eva Foster and her husband Daniel, Ramona Goff and her husband Clifford, and Rosita Martinez and her husband Raul, all of Big Spring; two brothers, Elias Munoz and Ezekiel Munoz, both of Big Spring; five sisters, Esther Mezick, Naomi Valdez, Margie Munoz and Isabel Allred and her husband John, all of Big Spring, and Leonora Arms and her husband Paul of Midland; 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Emeteria Jaimez Munoz and Aristeo Munoz; one son, Benjamin Munoz; one brother, Daniel Munoz; and one granddaughter.
