Scouts to collect tabs for Ronald McDonald House

July 23, 2011

Drop off tabs at the Big Spring Herald office

The Lone Star District of the Buffalo Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America is working with the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge Aerie 3188 in Big Spring to collect pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Lubbock.
“The program is a way for people of all ages to support RMHC and make a difference for families and children,” said Brian Sweeney, Lone Star District executive.
The fundraiser benefits seriously ill children by helping provide a place for them and their families to stay while they are out of town for medical treatment. Recycling the tabs generates proceeds to donate to an area Ronald McDonald House.
“Pop tabs are small and convenient to collect,” said Sweeney. “Hundreds of thousands of pop tabs have been collected to benefit Ronald McDonald Houses. Please save your pop tabs and bring them to the Big Spring Herald during business hours. There will be a conveniently placed drop bin as you walk in the door.”
The Herald is located at 710 Scurry.
