Selestino 'Pepe' Hernandez

Selestino “Pepe” Hernandez, 61, of Big Spring died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at his residence. Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Joey Bacon officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

He was born March 1, 1950, in San Angelo to Dominga and Jesus Hernandez. He had been a cook at Furr’s Cafeteria for many years and was a lifetime resident of Big Spring.

He is survived by his wife, Maria G. Hernandez of Big Spring; two sons, Selestino Hernandez Jr. and wife Tonya of Midland and Selestino Hernandez III of Big Spring; three daughters, Dianna Perez and husband Ariel and Amy Hernandez, all of Big Spring, and Lisa Granado of Midland; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Luis Hernandez of Big Spring; and four sisters, Rosa Aguierre and Juana Walton, both of Big Spring, Esther Hernandez of Denver, Colo., and Mary Gomez of Odessa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jesse Hernandez.
