State Senator Kel Seliger(R-Amarillo) says letâ€™s stick with the educational reforms encompassed with House Bill 5.
â€śThe general response around the district is very positive, and it is easy to understand because itâ€™s an educatorâ€™s bill,â€ť Seliger said. â€śThe original bill I introduced essentially came from educators. I represent 82 school districts. All my public education stuff, I send to them before I introduce or shortly thereafter. I donâ€™t go to committee or the floor without educators weighing in. I have a lot of good ideas but some of them are not workable. Some of them can be improved upon, so I asked the people who are experts who are more than eager to work with me on that stuff. So overwhelmingly, itâ€™s been positive.â€ť
