Shooting suspect caught in San Antonio

December 20, 2013

A suspect wanted in connection with a November shooting in Big Spring has been arrested in San Antonio, law enforcement officials said.

Leroy Zubiate, 29, of New Mexico, was arrested by U.S. Marshals Thursday on charges stemming from a shooting that occurred Nov. 27 in east Big Spring.

Juan Diaz, 23, suffered serious gunshot wounds to the face and legs during the incident.

The shooting is believed to be the result of a domestic dispute between Diaz and Zubiate, said Sgt. Tony Everett, Big Spring Police Department public information officer.
