SMMC to offer help with new Affordable Care Act

October 2, 2013

You’ve probably heard about the new affordable health insurance options that began Monday. On Oct.
28, at 5:30 p.m. in the Senior Circle Room, Scenic Mountain Medical Center is inviting members of the
community to learn about the new health insurance options.

Scenic Mountain Medical Center will have representatives on hand who will clear up confusion surrounding the Health Insurance Marketplace.

This initiative is part of the Affordable Care Act, which requires most U.S. citizens to have health insurance beginning Jan. 1, 2014. A primary goal of the Affordable Care Act is to help uninsured, eligible Americans gain access to affordable healthcare. Financial help to lower costs is also available for people who qualify.
