Steers cross country competes at Regional Meet

The Steers cross country team represented Big Spring this week at the Regional Meet,with the boys finishing in ninth place overall and the girls crossing the line at 13th place.

Gustavo Lugo led the way for the boys, claiming the fifth spot overall with a time of 16:20.20. Right behind Lugo, in sixth place, was Thomas King. The Big Spring sophomore posted a time of 16:33.70.

Mike Williams finished in 31st place, Nathan Jimenez came in 84th, Mason Ford crossed the line in 94th and Joshua Means ranked in at the 130th spot.
In the girls races, Jaycee Williams was the Lady Steer to beat, finishing ahead of all Big Spring runners with a time of 12:57.34.

The run was good enough for a 16th place overall finish. Karina Alvarado was the second Big Spring runner to break the tape, coming in 18th place, with a time of 13:03.

Lil Alvarado, Vicky Sotelo and Mika Mendez rounded out the Lady Steers runners, with finishes of 78th, 111th and 130th overall.
