Steers fall to Seminole, Buffs pull out OT win over Wolves

Steer varsity will look to get back in action with a win at the Bridgeport Tournament, which is set to begin Friday against an opponent to be announced. Forsan — led by Dillon Bagnall with 19 points and nine rebounds; Kade Fannin, who chipped in 10 points and nine rebounds and J.T. Breyman, who added 10 points — were tied at 40 with the Wolves as regulation expired.Eleven unanswered points in extra minutes put the Buffs over with a 51-40 win.“They rose to Colorado City's challenge late in the game to send it into overtime,” Head Coach Gary Huckabee said. “Colorado City has a bunch of fine, young men and a great coach in Barry Kimball. Leading Garden City scorers included Corbin Davis, Juan Bustos, Dillion Koennig and Sam Miller, who put up a combined 58 points in the rout. The Bearkats will be participating in the Grady Cotton Classic Tournament beginning Thursday.GirlsGARDEN CITY — The Lady Kats — who have climbed to a No. 15 ranking in the Texas Girl's Coahes poll — also scored a convincing victory over Veribest on Friday, pummeling the Lady Falcons 78-11. Garden City (13-4) was led by Holly Halfmann with 21 points and Hope Halfmann with 10 points.The Lady Kats will resume play after the holidays at the Grady Cotton Classic Tournament on Friday.
