The Big Spring Steers have gone back to basics on their off week. No preparation for Snyder, no injuries to worry about, no pondering on the loss at Abilene Wylie, just the basics.
It's worked out well for head coach Phillip Ritchey and the Steers, too.
Ritchey said this week has given the Steers a chance to bring players from the freshman and junior varsity teams into practice, with the goal being to expose the younger players to what goes on in a varsity practice.
It's somewhat new for the Steers, Ritchey said, but something coaches want to be able to do often.
â€śWe worked everybody out together,â€ť he said. â€śJust kind of going through some two-a-day-type workouts, just fundamentals. Working the freshmen with the JV, with the varsity and everybody doing the same things. Worked out pretty good for us.â€ťView more articles in:
