Law enforcement officials set up a barricade near the intersection of E. Eighth Street and Main this morning, part of a 150-foot safe zone established in front of State National Bank, located at 901 Main St. According to Sgt. Tony Everett, public information officer with the Big Spring Police Department, a suspicious package was discovered on the steps of the bank this morning. At the time of this report, law enforcement officials had evacuated the area and were awaiting the arrival of bomb technicians from Midland. See the Tuesday edition of the Herald for more details.
