Tax bill coming your way

October 18, 2011

Officials with the Howard County Tax Collector’s Office say 2011 property tax bills have been mailed out and area residents can expect to receive them in the next few days — if they haven’t already.

County Tax Collector Kathy Sayles said her office is currently contracting with a company that stuffs the envelopes and mails out the statements for the Tax Collector’s Office.

“This is something quite different for us,” Sayles said. “However, with the number of statements that needed to go out, it just wasn’t feasible to have the staff here at the office handle it. That’s why the decision was made to bring in a company that specializes in this sort of thing.
