Tena & Company to hold benefit for abuse victims

March 28, 2011

Got a scorchin' tattoo? How about a really hot bike? You know, a motorcycle that makes other motorcycle turn their heads?
Don't worry if you don't. Tena & Company is inviting everyone to a survivors of domestic violence benefit Saturday, April 2. Funds raised during the day-long event will benefit domestic violence victims and organizations such as Victim Services, Bikers Against Child Abuse and others.

The event will take place at Tena & Company, located at 1806 N. Lamesa Highway (U.S. Highway 87). Doors open at 10 a.m. and a “first bike out” fun run begins at noon.

Other activities will include tattoo contests for men and women and best bike show.

There will be food and live music all day.

“We're expecting 500 to 1,000 people,” said Tena Nelson, owner. “It will bring business to the community and should be a lot of fun.
“We'd like everyone to come out and enjoy themselves and enjoy the day. It's for a very good cause.”

Those who want to help domestic violence victims but have other plans are welcome to stop by and make a donation, said Nelson.
She's also in need of volunteers to help with the food and various other activities that will be going on throughout the day.

Those who would like to help or who need more information can call Tena &Company at 432-517-4471 or Nelson at 432-770-8880.
