Teresa Silva Rocha

Teresa Silva Rocha, 70, of Big Spring, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, in a Midland hospital. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
Teresa was born Nov. 4, 1942, in Big Spring and had been a church secretary at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 43 years, starting in 1963. She had been a member of the Legion of Mary since 1961, the secretary of Cursillo Secretariat and a past member of the Diocese School Board. Teresa loved the church, traveling and the Dallas Cowboys.

Survivors include four brothers, Guadalupe Rocha and wife, Carmen of San Angelo, Roman Rocha of Kyle, Marcos Rocha and wife, Ramona, and Domingo Rocha, all of Big Spring; three sisters, Nina Alviar and husband, D.J. of Big Spring, Loy Galindo and husband, Oscar of Chandler, Ariz., and Mary Jane Leyva and husband, Jake of Bryan; a special friend, Ismael Rubio of Big Spring; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Demetrio and Monica Silva Rocha; one brother, Joe Rocha, Sr.; nephew, Joe Rocha, Jr.; and a special son, Juan Rocha.
