Thomas Lopez, 64, of Waxahachie, formerly of Big Spring died April 27, 2013. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Monsignor Bernard L. Gully, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born July 23, 1948, in Big Spring, Texas, to Alejandra (Cruz) and Jesus Lopez. He served in the United States Army from Sept. 2, 1969, until June 1, 1971. He went to college following the Army and obtained an engineer degree in aircraft manufacturing. Following college, he went to work for Lockheed Martin in Arlington, Texas, as an engineer. He retired from Lockheed in 2002. He was a Catholic.

He is survived by five sisters, Lucy Lopez of Roswell, N.M., Rosa Lopez of Big Spring, Margarita Dutchover of Big Spring, Catalina Padron of Coahoma and Manuela Arista of Fort Worth; and one brother, Enrique Lopez of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Felipe, Joe A. and Rafael Lopez.
