March 12, 2011

Three Big Spring teenagers were arrested in Lamesa earlier this week on gun and drug charges following a routine traffic stop, according to law enforcement officials.

Anselmo Vega Jr., 17, was arrested on a charge of theft of a firearm Monday in the city of Lamesa, located approximately one hour northwest of Big Spring. At the time of this report, Vega was still in the custody of the Dawson County Jail.

Also arrested were Dominick Cervantes, 17, on a charge of possession of a dangerous drug; and Andrew Yanez, 18, on a charge of possession of marijuana – two ounces or less. Cervantes bonded out of the Dawson County Jail shortly after his arrest Monday on a $10,000 bond. Yanez was released the same day on a $1,000 bond.
