Tim Ballard

Tim Ballard, 52, of Big Spring, Texas, died Friday Dec. 6, 2013, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church. Private interment will be at Trinity Memorial Park.

He was born Oct. 6, 1961, in Big Spring to Enola Myrlene and Bill Ballard. He was a lifetime resident of Howard County. He graduated from Coahoma High School in 1980. He married Kim Kendrick, Sept. 14, 1985, in Big Spring. He served with the U. S. Postal Service for 33 years. He was a member of the Forsan School Board since 2007. He was a member and deacon of Berea Baptist Church, where he was presently minister of music and taught the adult Sunday School Class. He was also involved in the Nursing Home Ministry for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Ballard of Big Spring; three sons, Timothy Ballard and his wife Stephanie of Hampton, Virginia, Tanner Ballard and Travis Ballard, both of Big Spring; one grandson: Aedyn Ballard of Hampton, Va.; three brothers, Bill Ballard and his wife Pat of Culpepper, Va., Courtney Ballard and his wife Kelli of Big Spring, and Kent Ballard and his wife Tammy of Guthrie, Texas; two sisters, Barbara Reilly and Altie Winn and her husband Mark, all of Big Spring; step-mother, Barbara Ballard of Big Spring; mother-in-law, Helen Kendrick of Big Spring; brother-in-law, Termite Kendrick and his wife Traci of Big Spring; several aunts and uncles; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Marvin Kendrick.
