Time draws near to register for parade

November 9, 2013

“It's absolutely free!”
Newly appointed Herald general manager Rick Nunez wants everyone to know there are absolutely no fees to enter the Herald's 28th Annual Christmas Parade.
“We've had more and more entries as we get closer to the deadline,” said Nunez, “But there is still plenty of time to enter and it's free to enter. There are no fees at all.”
“The deadline is Nov. 15, to enter a float to be judged,” Nunez said, “The parade will be held Dec. 7, and we welcome all entries.”
Although participants are free to create a float to their liking, there is a theme to this year's parade, as usual.
“Our theme is 'Christmas Through The Ages,'” the general manager said and encourages potential participants to use their imagination.
“We want them to think about how people celebrated Christmas in the past,” Nunez said and continued with the idea of perhaps thinking outside of the box.
“It could even be something like out of the caveman days,” Nunez gave as a diverse example.
