Toka Van, 39, of Big Spring died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at her residence. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel.
She was born Jan. 6, 1975 to Betty Tate and Ronald Van in Phoenix, Ariz.
She worked as a restaurant manager, spending most of her life in Big Spring. She was a member of Mount Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother, Betty Tate of Big Spring; her father, Ronald Van, Sr. of Phoenix; her fiancĂ©, Victor Dominguez Sr. of Big Spring; four children, Devante Lloyd and wife Linsley, Carlos Ross III, Tyree Tauiris Ross and Ceshun Montrell Ross, all of Big Spring; brothers, Roy Lee Thomas II of Dallas, Ronald Van Jr. of San Diego, Anthony Dewayne Van of Phoenix, Robert Lee Evans II of Arlington and Anthony Evans of Big Spring; sisters, Shawntay Sherrie Van, Veronica Denise Van and Brittany Nicole Govan, all of Phoenix, Sheena Evans of Austin and Stacey Evans of Bryan; four grandchildren, Haiden Jai Lloyd, Niyah Amari Lloyd, Aydrian Drayce Lloyd and Izaiah Derice Lloyd; her god-mother, friend and guardian for 19 years, Dorothy (Candy) Thomas; her best friends, Roy Thomas II, LaKisha McGregor and Kinshay Harris; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Odell Lamar Van; step-father, Robert Lee Evans Sr.; grandparents, Ella Louise Graves, Charles Earl Tate Sr., Thelma Mae Van and Odell Van; great-grandparents, Sallie B. Green and Walter Green; her aunts, Sallie B. Nobel and Ethel Carter; and uncles Donald Van and Frank Payton.
