Tony Gene Tucker (Double T), 72, of Santa Anna, Texas, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at an Abilene hospital. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2013, at the Santa Anna Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Roger Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
He was born Oct. 12, 1940, in Santa Anna, Texas, a son of Sebird Archie Tucker and Mary Jeanette Matthews Tucker Brock. He grew up and attended school in Santa Anna. Tony served in the National Guard and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He married Geraldine McAfee in Odessa, Texas, on June 24, 1966. They lived in Snyder and Big Spring, where Tony was a book truck operator for Haliburton. In 1991 they returned to Santa Anna. He was a Baptist and a member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine of Santa Anna; one daughter, Lillian Grissam and husband Rick of Loraine; one son, Archie Doyle Tucker and wife Pamela of Abilene; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his mother, Jeanette Brock of Santa Anna; and one brother, Bill Tucker and wife Betty of Santa Anna.
He was preceded in death by his father, a granddaughter, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 26, 2013, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan, Coleman, Texas.
