October 11, 2013

Brandon Iden and South Plains Implement were the major honorees at Thursday’s 22nd annual Ag Appreciation Luncheon.

Iden, a fourth-generation farmer/rancher, was named Ag Producer of the Year, while South Plains Implement was recognized as the Ag Business of the Year during the luncheon, sponsored by the Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce and held at Howard College’s Broughton Agriculture Complex.

Iden graduated from Sands High School, then attended Howard College before graduating from Texas Tech with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture education.

South Plains Implement began operations in the Big Spring area when it acquired Porter Henderson Implement Co. in September 2012. The company now has 160 employees at eight store locations in Texas and New Mexico.
