Truell Wayne Hyde, 85, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, in Big Spring, Texas. Family Visitation will be held between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home at 1615 South Fort Hood Road in Killeen, Texas. A Celebration service will be held at Memorial Baptist Church at 4001 West Trimmier Road in Killeen at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, with the Rev. Ken Cavey officiating. Burial will follow at Killeen Memorial Park.
Truell was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Walters, Okla., to Homer and Lula Mae (Greer) Hyde. At age three, he moved with his family to a farm near Friona, Texas, where he graduated from Friona High School. He married the late Erdeene Verle Clegg on June 2, 1949.
Truell is survived by his sons, Bradley Lewis Hyde and wife Lisa of Big Spring and Truell Hyde II and wife Carliss of Waco; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
